SENATOBIA, MS – Northwest Mississippi Community College put Itawamba Community College down early with two goals in the opening minutes on their way to a 3-0 division win.
The Rangers found the back of the net from 40 yards out at the second minute to take an early lead, and a header four minutes later put the Indians (1-3-1, 0-2-1 MACJC North) down 2-0.
Blake Lashlee (Olive Branch) and Zach Ellis (Tupelo) put together an offensive attack, but Rangers' keeper Matthew Williams was able to stop both shots.
After the two quick goals, the Indians defense settled in and held the Ranger scoreless for the remainder of the first half.
Midway through the second half, the Rangers had luck on their side as they scored on a ball bouncing off the post and into the net.
The Indians were unable to find twine despite out shooting the Rangers 15-14, and look to rebound Friday when they host Holmes for another division match. Kickoff is set for 4:00 p.m. in Fulton.
