
GARDENDALE, AL – The Indians wrapped up the Turf Wars Invitational with a pair of dominant wins, defeating Andrew College and Snead State.
Game 1: Indians 17, Andrew College 0 (5 innings)
Sadie Stegall was a single away from hitting for the cycle, driving in four runs with a double, triple, and home run in the Indians' commanding 17-0 win over Andrew College. The offense erupted for 20 hits, scoring five runs in the first, third, and fourth innings.
AB Marlar contributed three hits, including two doubles, and drove in four runs. Morgan Green also had three hits with two doubles and two RBIs, while Maddie Porter added three hits, a double, and two RBIs. Laklyn Nichols recorded two hits, including a double, and drove in two runs. Kamdyn Taylor chipped in with a double, and Maddie McClendon added a triple to the hit parade.
Lauren Brown was dominant in the circle, allowing just one hit and striking out eight in five scoreless innings to pick up the win.
Game 2: Indians 9, Snead State 3
Tayler Graham led the offensive charge with three hits as the Indians defeated Snead State 9-3. They jumped out to an early lead, scoring three runs in the first and adding two more in the second to go up 5-0.
In the opening frame, Lauren Brown doubled to bring home Ella Duhon, Porter followed with an RBI double to score Brown, and Stegall plated Porter on a groundout. The second inning saw Graham drive in Green with a bunt single before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Duhon.
The Indians finished with 12 hits, with Brown and Porter each adding two alongside Graham's three-hit performance. Alyssa Clifft earned the win, allowing three unearned runs on three hits while striking out nine and walking one over seven innings.
