
FULTON, Miss. – The Indians picked up their fifth consecutive win on Friday after defeating Gadsden State in three sets (25-23; 25-18; 25-12).
After trailing for most of the opening set, the Indians battled back to take a 25-23 set win over the Cardinals and they never looked back, taking the second, 25-18, and the third, 25-12.
On the attack, Bree Lyons (Oxford) led the Indians with 17 kills while Lexi Pendleton (Germantown, Tenn.) added nine, and McLaine Dorr (Gluckstadt), seven. Lyons also had a team-best 22 digs with Natalie Nix (Florence, Ala.) adding seven. Presley Jones (Killen, Ala.) led with 21 assists followed by Kylie Graham (Moulton, Ala.) with 13 and Pendleton, 11.
Next up, the Indians will be back in conference action Sept. 30 when they travel to Senatobia for a 6 p.m. showdown with Northwest.
