Indians sweep Snead State

FULTON, Miss. – The Indians put together a solid performance to secure the sweep over Snead State on Saturday. 

Game 1: Indians 5, Parsons 2

The Indians started Saturday's doubleheader on the right note with a 5-2 win over the Parsons. 

ICC struck first in the first inning when Stone Collier used a single to score Jude Treadaway, and Treadaway followed with an RBI of his own when he singled to score Jarrett Morris in the second.

Reid Kent added the Indians' third run of the contest with a single to left that scored Collier in the third. Evan McCarthy put the exclamation point on the game one victory with a two-run home run to put ICC up by five in the fourth.

Brock Ware was the pitcher of record for the Indians, allowing two hits and two runs (one earned) while striking out five batters in five innings of work. Tyler Yearwood collected the save for ICC.

At the plate, McCarthy and Treadaway led the way with three hits apiece. McCarthy drove in a pair of runs while Treadaway added one.

Game 2: Indians 10, Parsons 2

The Indians amassed 12 hits as they rolled to a 10-2 game two victory over Snead State to secure the sweep.

The Parsons started the contest with an early lead with a pair of runs in the top of the first inning, and Bryson Jackson answered with an RBI single in the bottom half.

In the bottom of the second, Jackson put ICC in front with a 2 RBI single to make it 3-2.

The Indians surged in the fifth with four runs scored. Evan McCarthy scored from third on an error, Reid Kent singled to score Stone Collier, Jarrett Morris doubled to score Kent and Hank Stalnaker singled to score Morris.

In the sixth, ICC added three more to their lead. Kent used a sacrifice fly to score Jackson, and Morris followed with a 2 RBI triple that scored McCarthy and Collier.'

Jud Files earned the win for the Indians after striking out four batters and walking four while allowing four hits and two runs in four innings of work. Brayden Billingsley and Everett Thompson each tossed scoreless innings in relief.

At the plate, Morris led with three RBIs while going 2-for-3 in the contest. McCarthy collected three hits while Stalnaker and Kent each added two.
