TUNICA, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's Watkins Dumas represented the Indians at the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament, held April 21-23 at Tunica National.
Dumas opened the tournament with a 77 (+5) in the first round, finishing the day tied for 21st on the individual leaderboard. He matched that score in the second round, posting another 77 (+5) to sit in 23rd place heading into the final day.
In Wednesday's final round, Dumas carded a 78 (+6) to close out the tournament tied for 26th overall and a total of 232 (+16).
The Starkville native qualified for the Region 23 Tournament as an individual after his performance in the MACCC Championship Tournament, where he finished in fourth place with a two-round total of 146 (+2) with an even-par 72 in the first round and a 74 (+2) in the second.
