
FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's volleyball team opened its conference slate with a 3-0 win over Meridian on Monday night in three sets (25-19; 25-20; 25-17).
After winning the opening set, 25-19, the Indians completed the sweep over the Eagles, taking the second set, 25-20, and the third, 25-17.
On the attack, Bree Lyons (Oxford) and McLaine Dorr (Gluckstadt) tied for a team-best eight kills while Lexi Pendleton (Germantown, Tenn.) added six and Michael Ann East (Oxford), three. Kensley Woolbright (New Hope) led the Indians with 12 digs, and Lyons added nine. Presley Jones (Killen, Ala.) led with 12 assists while Kylie Graham (Moulton, Ala.) had nine.
Next up, the Indians will face rival Northeast Sept. 25 at 6 p.m. in the Davis Event Center.
