
POPLARVILLE, Miss. – The Indians took care of business on the road against Pearl River Monday night, defeating the Wildcats, 3-0, in three sets (25-19; 25-16; 25-21).
The Indians set the tone early with a 25-19 win in the opening set, which propelled them to taking the second, 25-16, and the third, 25-21, over the Wildcats.
Bree Lyons (Oxford) led the way for the Indians with 10 kills while Lexi Pendleton (Germantown, Tenn.) contributed eight and Michael Ann East (Oxford), seven. On the serve, Kensley Woolbright (New Hope) recorded a team-best 12 digs while Lyons added nine and Presley Jones (Killen, Ala.), who also led with 16 assists, added eight.
The Indians will be back in action, Oct. 9, when they go back on the road for a 5 p.m. showdown with Meridian.
