No. 15 Lady Indians fall to No. 13 Meridian, 6-3

No. 15 Lady Indians fall to No. 13 Meridian, 6-3

FULTON, Miss. – The No. 15 Lady Indians dropped a tough battle against No. 13 Meridian, 6-3, at the Johnson-Partlow Tennis Courts on Friday.

While Rayssa Dominguez and Lucia Rubio secured No. 1 doubles with an 8-6 win, ICC fell behind 2-1 after doubles play with Caitlyn Ard and Presley Thomas dropping an 8-3 decision at No. 2 and Ainsley Robison and Ava Logan falling 9-7 at No. 3.

In singles play, Dominguez opened with a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 1 singles and Rubio followed with a 6-3, 6-1 victory at No. 2. Addison Joshlin dropped a hard-fought game at No. 6 by the score of 2-6, 6-2 [10-2]. Meridian went on to take wins at No. 3, No. 4 and No. 5 to secure the match win.

The Lady Indians will be back in action on Monday, March 17, as they host Gulf Coast for a 2 p.m. match.
