
HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Indians ended their first day in the Alabama-Mississippi Crossover with a 3-2 win over Wallace State Community College in five sets (25-23; 19-25; 25-23; 23-25; 15-13).
After the Indians (5-4, 0-0 MACCC) took the opening set in the back-and-forth affair, the Lions (8-5) took the second followed by ICC, the third. After Wallace State took the fourth set, the Indians earned the 15-13 win in the decisive fifth to secure the match, marking ICC's first win over the Lions in program history.
Bree Lyons (Oxford) led the Indians on the attack with 20 kills while Lexi Pendleton (Germantown, Tenn.) added 16 and McLaine Dorr (Gluckstadt), 10.
Kensley Woolbright (New Hope) had a team-best 24 digs with Lyons adding 13. Presley Jones (Killen, Ala.) led with 27 assists and Kylie Graham (Moulton, Ala.) added 24.
The Indians will be back in action on Sept. 7 for the second day of the Alabama-Mississippi Crossover in Hanceville, Ala. They will face Lurleen B. Wallace at 10 a.m. and Calhoun at 4 p.m.
