
BOONEVILLE, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College volleyball team completed the season sweep of rival Northeast with a 3-2 road win on Monday night in five sets (25-19; 21-25; 25-18; 22-25; 15-8).
After the Indians took the first set, 25-19, the Tigers evened the match with a 25-21 win in the second. It was a back-and-fourth match between ICC and Northeast with the Indians coming out on top at the end with a 15-8 win in the fifth set.
Lexi Pendleton (Germantown, Tenn.) had a team-best 15 kills while Bree Lyons (Oxford) added 12, and McLaine Dorr (Gluckstadt), seven. On the serve, Pendleton also had the most digs on the night with 15, and Kensley Woolbright (New Hope) added 13. Presley Jones (Killen, Ala.) led the Indians with 16 assists while Pendleton and Woolbright each added 11.
Next up, the Indians will host Northwest on Wednesday, Oct. 16 for a 6 p.m. match at the Davis Event Center.
