
FULTON, Miss. – The No. 21 Lady Indians fell to No. 12 Gulf Coast, 8-1, at the Johnson-Partlow Tennis Courts on Monday.
The Bulldogs swept the doubles matches as Rayssa Dominguez and Lucia Rubio dropped an 8-5 decision in No. 1 doubles, Melina Vazquez and Presley Thomas fell in No. 2, 8-1, and Ava Logan and Ainsley Robison dropped No. 3, 8-0.
In singles play, Dominguez got the Lady Indians their lone win of the day with a hard-fought 4-6, 6-2 [10-7] victory over Danique Vermue. However, Gulf Coast responded by sweeping the remainder of the match.
The Lady Indians will be back in action on Thursday, March 20, when they host rival Northeast for a 2 p.m. match at the Johnson-Partlow Tennis Courts.
