
FULTON, Miss. – The Lady Indians remained undefeated and improved to 2-0 in conference play with a 5-0 win over East Mississippi on Friday.
ICC (7-0, 2-0 MACCC) set the tone late in the first half, scoring three goals in 15 minutes. Juliana Motes (Fulton) netted the Lady Indians' first goal on an assist from Bella Moore (Olive Branch) with 13:22 left in the half. Additional scoring included Vanessa Baugatz's (Berlin, Germany) goal assisted by Isobel Kinsella (Gloucestershire, United Kingdom), and Kinsella's goal on an assist by Millie Webb (Rugby, England).
After halftime, Kim Maaskant, who scored on an assist from Baugatz with 24:54 left, extended the Lady Indians' lead. An assist by Annie Mansel helped Baugatz record her second goal of the match to put ICC up 5:00 with 8:44 left to play.
Baugatz's two goals moved her up to second in all-time career goals with 19. Grace Joyce (2018-19) is the all-time leader with 23. Baugatz and Kinsella each had two shots on goal while Maaskant and Motes each added one.
Annabelle Holman (Amory) led ICC with four saves while Kyla Kate Huffman (Pelahatchie) added one.
Up next, the Lady Indians will be back at the ICC Soccer Complex on Tuesday, Sept. 24, when they host No. 5 Holmes at 1 p.m.
