
BOONEVILLE, MS - The Indians put together a solid performance to secure a 3-1 victory over Northeast Mississippi Community College on Wednesday.
Northeast got on the board first in the second inning, but the Indians responded in the fourth, as Reid Kent delivered a clutch single to center on a full count, tying the game at one. The Indians took control in the fifth when Bryson Jackson roped a double to bring in the go-ahead run. Kent added to the lead in the sixth with a solo home run to center field, giving the Indians a two-run advantage.
Jud Files was dominant in relief, earning the win with four shutout innings. He allowed just one hit, struck out seven, and walked three. Yearwood, the starter, gave up one run on three hits over three innings while striking out three.
At the plate, Kent and Jude Treadaway led the way with two hits apiece. Kent finished 2-for-2 with two RBIs, providing the offensive spark. The defense was sharp, turning a double play and playing error-free baseball.
