
CORINTH, Miss. – The Itawamba Community College golf team earned a sixth-place finish at the MACCC Championship Tournament at Shiloh Ridge this week.
Watkins Dumas (Starkville) led the way for the Indians, securing fourth place on the individual leaderboard with a two-round total of 146 (+2) with an even-par 72 in the first round and a 74 (+2) in the second.
Hayden Williams (Corinth) tied for 35th and a total score of 164 (+20) after shooting 83 (+11) in the first round and 81 (+9) in the second. Cooper Williamson (Starkville) tied for 41st (165,+21) with rounds of 82 (+10) and 83 (+11).
Elliott Overton (Winfield, Ala.) and Katch Edge (New Hope) both tied for 44th and finished at 166 (+22). Overton shot 87 (+15) in the first round and 79 (+7) in the second. Edge posted 79 (+7) in the first round and 87 (+15) in the second.
Dumas qualified for an individual spot in the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament, which will be at Tunica National Golf Course April 21-23. He will play for a spot in the NJCAA Division II Golf Championship Tournament at Swan Lake Resort in Plymouth, Ind.
