
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – The Indians suffered their first loss of the season, 3-1, at Pellissippi State on Thursday in four sets (21-25; 17-25; 25-22; 18-25).
After dropping the first two sets, the Indians (2-1, 0-0 MACCC) took the third but couldn't generate a comeback bid as the Panthers (1-2) took the fourth to secure the match.
On the attack, Bree Lyons (Oxford) led ICC with 14 kills while Lexi Pendleton (Germantown, Tenn.) contributed 10 and McLaine Dorr (Gluckstadt), six. Kensley Woolbright (New Hope) had a team-best 19 digs in the match and Lyons added 12. Presley Jones (Killen, Ala.) led the Indians with 21 assists.
The Indians will be back in action on Friday when they travel to Chattanooga, Tenn. for the Chattanooga State Invitational, where they will face John A. Logan at 2 p.m. and No. 12 Wallace State at 4 p.m.
