
TANNER, Ala. – Jestiny Dixon and D'Naylah Williams each have a double-double performance to help the Lady Indians open the season with a 63-55 win over Calhoun Community College Lady Warhawks in the Calhoun Classic.
Dixon (Foley, Ala.) scored a game-high 20 points and grabbed a game-best 11 rebounds. Williams (Kosciusko) added 11 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lady Indians (1-0, 0-0 MACCC) took a 17-12 lead after the end of the first quarter and saw the Lady Warhawks (0-1, 0-0 MACCC) battle back to make it a 30-28 game in favor of ICC at the break.
The Lady Indians outscored the Lady Warhawks 16-15 in the third quarter to push their way out to a 46-43 advantage before grabbing a 17-12 scoring edge in the final frame to pick up the eight-point win.
Jamya Griffin led the Lady Warhawks with 18 points.
The Lady Indians will face Motlow State in the second day of the Calhoun Classic on Saturday.
