
FULTON, MS - The Lady Indians earned a 60-50 victory over Hinds Community College, using strong second-half play to pull away.
ICC started fast, leading 18-10 after the first quarter. Hinds held them to just two points in the second, cutting the lead to 20-21 at halftime. The Lady Indians responded with a 22-point third quarter, creating separation and controlling the game in the final period.
Tootie Lockett led with 15 points, hitting two three-pointers. D'Naylah Williams and Leanna Silas each scored eight, with Silas making all four free throws. I'Xana Winters added nine points off the bench.
Itawamba controlled the boards, outrebounding Hinds 43-22. Their defense limited Hinds to 24.3% shooting and forced 20 turnovers.
