Indians swept at No. 10 Wallace State

HANCEVILLE, Ala. – Itawamba Community College dropped a pair of road games at No. 10 Wallace State (DI) on Tuesday.
Game 1: Lions 8, Indians 6
The Indians' late rally attempt came up just short in game one against Wallace State, 8-6.
ICC got on the board first in the top of the second after Morgan Green delivered an RBI double, and the Lions found the equalizer in the bottom half of the inning.
After Neely Hodum scored on an error in the top of the third, Wallace State put three runs across the plate in the bottom half of the inning to go up 4-2.
The Lions would add another run to their lead in the fourth and two more in the fifth.
In the top of the sixth, ICC made it a one-run game with a four-run outing. Maddie McClendon singled to score Jenna Whitfield, Tayler Graham grounded out to score Zoe Goodman and Joryie McKnight delivered a 2 RBI single.
The Lions added another run in the bottom of the sixth to mark the game's final score, 8-6.
In the circle, Ella Lilly walked two batters and gave up eight runs (five earned) on 13 hits in six innings of work.
McKnight, Whitfield, Green, McClendon, Goodman, Taylar Shands, Sadie Stegall and AB Marlar each collected a hit for the Indians.
Game 2: Lions 4, Indians 0
The Indians couldn't get anything going as they dropped game two at No. 10 Wallace State, 4-0.
The Lions got on the board in the fourth inning after an error scored two runs and would later score two more in the sixth.
Neely Hodum was the pitcher of record for ICC, walking a batter and giving up three runs (zero earned) on five hits in six innings.
Joryie McKnight, Maddie Porter, Ella Duhon and Tayler Graham each recorded a hit for the Indians.
