MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Lady Indians opened the season at Southwest Tennessee Community College and put on quite the show in the second half. Coach David Strother stressed the importance of a strong start to the season and the Lady Indians (1-0) kicked it off with a 4-0 win over the Saluqis (0-1).
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a scoreless first half, the Lady Indians had a flurry of shots that resulted in the opening goal as Isobel Kinsella (Gloucestershire, UK) put away the close-range shot in the 65th minute of action. [VIDEO]
Kinsella converted a PK to put the Lady Indians up 2-0 midway through the second half. [VIDEO]
Annie Mansel (Hernando) squeezed a pass between a pair of defenders for Juliana Motes (Fulton) to head the ball by the keeper to take a three-goal advantage in the 83rd minute. [VIDEO]
The Lady Indians added the final goal of the match when Motes scored off an assist from Kinsella in the 87th minute to pick up the season-opening victory. [VIDEO]
Annabelle Holman (Amory) had two saves to record the clean sheet in her collegiate debut in net.
