FULTON, Miss. – The Indians scored three goals in the second half as they cruised to a 5-0 victory over Southwest on Tuesday.
It did not take long for ICC to get the scoring started when Niclas Schulze (Hoersholm, Denmark) fired it into the net to put the Indians up 1-0 a little over a minute into the contest. Luke Dearsley (Sydney, Australia) later extended the lead by scoring on a free kick to make it a 2-0 advantage for ICC going into halftime. After the break, the Indians picked back up where they left off when Will Barber (Kent, England) found a window to make it 3-0 with 38:04 remaining. Schulze picked up his second goal of the match on an assist from Ronaldo Serna (Olive Branch) to make it 4-0. Serna then got a goal of his own to make it 5-0 with 9:51 left.
Schulze recorded a team-best two shots on goal in the victory while Barber, Elijah Belk (Oxford), Dearsley, Crosse Lindsay (Oxford), and Serna each added one.
William Blake (Fulton) recorded three saves in a full 90 minutes of work.
The Indians will be back in action Tuesday, Oct. 22 when they host East Central for a 3 p.m. match at the ICC Soccer Complex.
