Indians down Northwest, 7-2

SENATOBIA, Miss. – Itawamba Community College men's tennis picked up a 7-2 road victory over Northwest on Tuesday.

In doubles play, ICC led 2-1 after Joan Mateu Ramis Pascual (Manacor, Spain) and Knox Waterer (Belden) took No. 1 in an 8-3 decision over Luca Morris and Joshua Tedford while Jack Semper (Hackney, England) and Santiago Diaz (Buenos Aires, Argentina) followed with an 8-6 win at No. 2 over Holden Cooke and Miguel Lazaga Robayna. Sawyer Ritchie (Pontotoc) and Ben Orr (Fulton) dropped No. 3 doubles to Cole Stoddard and Gabriel Koonce, 8-2.

In singles, Ramis Pascual picked up the 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 1 over Morris, and Waterer followed with a 6-0, 6-2 victory over Lazaga Robayna at No. 2. At No. 3, Semper defeated Cooke in a 6-2, 6-3 match, and Diaz earned No. 4 with a 3-6, 6-3 [10-4] victory over Stoddard. At No. 5, it was a hard-fought battle between Luca Hoffmann (Starkville) and Tedford, which ended in a 5-7, 6-4 [12-10] decision in favor of the Rangers. Orr picked up the Indians' last win of the day with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over Brady Holliman.

The Indians will be back in action on Wednesday, March 26, for a 2 p.m. match with UT Southern in Pulaski, Tenn.
