
BROOKHAVEN, Miss. – The Indians carded 63-over as team at Brookhaven Country Club to wrap-up the Wolfpack Invitational with a ninth-place finish.
Watkins Dumas (Starkville) put together his best round of the season to card a 70 (E) to finish the opening round in a four-way tie for fifth place. Like majority of the field, Dumas struggled on the second day of play and carded an 81 (+11) to finish tied for 24th.
Cooper Williamson (Starkville) and Woods Mitchell (Eupora) finished in tied for 32nd. Williamson shot 74 (+4) to close the opening round tied at 22nd before carding an 81 (+11) on the final day of play. Mitchell made one of the biggest leaps up the leaderboard jumping from tied for 44th after shooting a 75 (+5) after turning in an 80 (+10) on Monday.
Elliott Overton (Winfield) opened the tournament with an 82 (+12) before turning in an 81 (+11) to finish tied for 49th. Ben Frederick (Aberdeen) shot an opening-round 81 (+11) and closed with an 88 (+18) to finish with sole possession of 56th.
Meridian claimed first place with a score of 11-over with Stephen Faucheaux of Hinds earning medalist honors at nine-under-par for the tournament.
