FULTON, MS – Freshman Will Barber (Kent, England) found the net with five seconds left in the match to propel the Indians to an exciting 1-0 win over Meridian in non-conference play on Friday.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The action picked up in the second half and neither team could find the net in the first 45 minutes of play. The Indians nearly broke open the scoreless contest off a header by Niclas Schulze (Hoersholm, Denmark) but Meridian defender Matty Longdon (Leicester, UK) cleared the ball just before it crossed the goal line.
Barber weaved his way between a pair of defenders and sent the ball top shelf from 20 yards out to give the Indians a 1-0 advantage with five second remaining.
The Eagles quickly advanced the ball forward and their shot from 30-plus yards out was wide left allowing the Indians pick up the thrilling victory. [VIDEO]
William Blake (Fulton) had one save after going the full 90 in net for the Indians.
