
FULTON, MS - The Indians earned another sweep against the No. 4 team in the country, this time against the East Central Warriors.
Game 1: Indians 6, Warriors 2
Evan McCarthy had a perfect day at the plate, going 4-for-4 and leading the Indians to a 6-2 win over No. 4 East Central.
McCarthy doubled three times and singled, adding up to four RBIs.
The game started with the Indians taking a 1-0 lead in the first inning after Stone Collier grounded out. McCarthy's first double in the third helped extend the lead to 2-0. The Warriors tied the game at two in the fifth, but the Indians regained the lead in the bottom of the fifth on a single by Reid Kent.
Bryson Jackson's solo home run in the eighth inning put the game out of reach, extending the lead to 6-2.
Nathan Reed earned the win, pitching five scoreless innings with five strikeouts. Andrew Williams started for the Indians, allowing two runs over four innings.
Itawamba CC Indians collected 11 hits, including three from Jude Treadaway.
Game 2: Warriors 3, Indians 1
No. 4 East Central rallied to pick up a 3-1 win in the nightcap.
Despite out-hitting East Central CC Baseball 8-6, the Indians could not secure the win. Madden Butler hit a solo home run in the fourth to put ICC on the board.
Brock Ware took the loss, allowing three runs over six innings.
