Lake City, Fla. - The Indians dropped a 3-0 decision to Pensacola State in their opening game of the NJCAA Gulf District Tournament Thursday.
In the first set, Pensacola State and the Indians battled but the Pirates were able to edge out the win, 25-23.
The second set was also a battle with the teams being tied numerous times before the Pirates were able to pull away late and pick up the 25-17 win.
Leading 2-0, the Pirates had momentum on their side and were able to pick up the sweep with a 25-5 win in the third set.
The Indians (19-11) will now face Gulf Coast State in an elimination game Friday at 8 am and have the possibility of playing three games Friday. If the Indians defeat Gulf Coast State (12-12), they will play at 1 pm, and with another win they would play at 5 pm.
