FULTON, Miss. — Lexi Pendleton (Germantown, Tenn.) was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II All-America Second Team on Tuesday.
Pendleton made the most of her lone season with the Indians by recording the most kills in a single season with 355, averaging 3.26 per set. She also led the team with a .276 hitting percentage and posted a career-best 24 kills against Jones in the Region 23 semifinals.
When talking about the All-American recognition, Pendleton expressed her for her teammates and her coaches.
"I'm so honored to have been named an All-American, especially in a program that has become as strong as it is," Pendleton said. "I'm so thankful for my teammates, Coach Annie [McGregor], Coach Caroline [Smith] and thankful for God for placing me in this situation as I came to ICC looking for a better volleyball experience, and I had just that."
ICC head volleyball coach Annie McGregor said that her program was excited to have Pendleton for even just one season and spoke proudly of her accomplishments.
"Lexi left such a big mark on our program. She was an incredibly impactful player with her setting, her hitting, her survey, her passing, all of it," McGregor said. "She was just a well-rounded player who was able to help us out tremendously on- and off-the-court. She was an amazing part of our program this year and a huge part of our success. So we're really excited to see her get the recognition for All-American."
Pendleton is the first ICC volleyball player to be named All-American.
