
FULTON, Miss. – Sophomores Bree Lyons and Kensley Woolbright made history by earning the first-ever Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) Player of the Week honors, according to a conference announcement Tuesday.
Lyons (Oxford) was named MACCC Offensive Player of the Week after helping the Indians earn a pair of 3-2 wins over Chattanooga State and Calhoun on Friday. The outside hitter recorded a team-high 32 total kills with 13 against Chattanooga State and 19 against Calhoun, which was one shy of a career-high.
Woolbright (New Hope) played a key role in ICC's hard-fought wins over Chattanooga State and Calhoun, earning her MACCC Defensive Player of the Week honors. The libero had a team-leading total of 52 digs on the day. She recorded 19 against Chattanooga State and a career-high 33 against Calhoun.
The Indians will play again Aug. 29 when they travel to Knoxville, Tenn. for a 6:30 p.m. match with Pellissippi State.
