Fulton, Miss. – After winning the first set, the Indians found themselves down 2-1 and rallied to pick up the 3-2 win over St. Louis Friday.
The Indians (8-5) took the first set 25-15, but dropped a hard fought second set, 25-23. The Archers grabbed a 25-18 third set win, but the Indians forced a fifth set by winning the fourth 25-17.
In the final set, the Indians and Archers battled, but the hosting Tirbe picked up a 15-12 victory to claim the match.
Mary Leslie Cranford (Covington, Tenn.) led the Indians with 10 kills, followed by Zakhia Taylor (Olive Branch) with 7.
Freshman setter Sarah Allyn Thornell (Atoka, Tenn.) picked up 23 assists and sophomore libero Londyn Bakeris (Olive Branch) had 18 digs.
LaMaya Newsome (Southaven) and Morgan Ray (Clinton) combined for 11 block assists in the win.
