Pair of home runs completes softball comeback win

BOONEVILLE, MS - Back-to-back home runs by Kaitlin Bradley (Columbus) and Mamie Hollenhead (Mathiston) completed Itawamba Community College's come from behind win over No. 19 Wabash College to opened Northeast Mississippi Community College's Tigerfest Saturday.
The Indians (7-2) trailed 5-2 after the opening inning, chipped away and Bradley's homer in the top of the fifth tied the contest at 6-6. One pitch later Hollenhead crushed a home run to left to give the Indians their first lead since the first frame.
It was a hot start for the Indians as they plated two run in the top of the first inning on a Hollenhead single that scored Bradley, who hit a triple to score Lane Kennedy (Smithville).
The Warriors (3-1) rallied in the bottom of the inning with five runs on five hits including a three run home run.
Bree Thompson (Water Valley), Maura Jane Autry (Holly Springs) and Kennedy all picked up RBIs in the contest to help set up the dramatic ending that gave the Indians the 7-6 win.
Bradley and Hollenhead were both a perfect 3-3 at the plate in the win.
