
SENATOBIA, Miss. – The Indians earned the road sweep at Northwest on Wednesday.
Game 1: Indians 4, Northwest 2
Alyssa Clifft struck out 10 batters in ICC's game one win at Northwest, 4-2.
The Indians got on the board first in the top of the fifth when Avery Wolfe hit an RBI single to score Laklyn Nichols. In the top of the sixth, ICC made it a 4-0 game when Riley Tyree singled to score Hallie Turner followed by Joryie McKnight's single that scored Tyree and Jessi Smith.
The Rangers put a pair of runs across the plate in the bottom of the sixth, but the Indians held on for the game one win.
McKnight led the Indians with two RBI while Tyree and Wolfe each added one.
Game 2: Indians 2, Northwest 1
The Indians completed the sweep at Northwest with a come-from-behind game two win.
The Rangers struck first, scoring a run on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. In the top of the fourth, ICC tied the game after Julia Shaw was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, allowing Hallie Turner to score.
The Indians took the lead in the top of the fifth when Turner singled to score Camdyn Cooper.
Turner went three-for-four at the plate and had an RBI while Jessi Smith added two hits.
Shaw was the pitcher of record for the Indians, surrendering one run on four hits.
The Indians will be back on the road on Friday when they travel to Summit to face Southwest.
