FULTON, MS – Sophomore striker Michael Kiser (Olive Branch) picked up a hat trick to lead the Itawamba Community College men's soccer to a 6-1 win over Co-Lin Community College Tuesday.
The Indians (2-1) started off sluggish, but found their stride as the game progressed to take a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute off a Kiser header. However, the lead would be short lived as the Wolves netted the equalizer on a header of their own six minutes later.
At halftime, the teams were knotted at one a piece, but the Indians regained the lead off the head of Kiser four minutes into the second half. Kiser scored his final goal of the game midway through the final half to make it 3-1 in favor of ICC.
After Kiser's hat trick goal, Boston Hampton (Tupelo) found the back of the net less than two minutes later, and Chase Huddleston (Tupelo) added the Indians third goal in four minutes.
As time expired in the match, Josh Bartlett (Chelsea, AL) beat the keeper to give the Indians the 6-1 victory.
The Indians will open MACJC North Division play Friday as they travel to Decatur to take on East Central Community College at 4:00 p.m.
