FAYETTE, Ala. – The Indians saw Bevill State put three runs on the board in back-to-back innings in a 6-1 game two loss on Wednesday.
Trailing 6-0, the Indians tried to spark a rally when Ben Davis scored on a single by Bo Rock in the sixth inning. The Bears closed the door on the Indians rally in the seventh to earn a split on opening day.
Davis went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored. The Indians totaled six hits and left eight runners on bases in the loss.
Matt Bourdon (0-1) was the pitcher of record after giving up three runs, all earned, on four hits and five strikeouts.
