SENATOBIA, Miss. - The Indians overcame a slow start to pick up a 3-1 win to complete the season sweep of Northwest on Tuesday.
The Rangers outscored ICC 37-18 through the first two sets before the Indians started to turn things in their favor.
Down 12-5 in the second set, the Indians answered with a 15-10 to force the Rangers to call a timeout in hopes to regroup. Instead, ICC answered with a 4-1 run out of the timeout and pull even with the Rangers, 1-1, with a 26-24 in the second set.
Both teams battled to a 15-15 score in third set. The Indians went on a 4-0 run to swing momentum their way to help pick up a 25-23 win in a pivotal third set.
ICC raced out a 10-1 advantage in the fourth set, but Northwest refused to go away quietly and rallied to make it a 21-17 contest in favor of the Indians. ICC closed the door on the Rangers' rally to pick up a 25-19 win.
Northwest won the opening set 25-15.
The Indians will host Lawson State (AL) for High School Team Night at 5 p.m. on Friday.
