Fulton, Miss. – Itawamba Community College women's basketball picked up a conference win Monday Night defeating Copiah-Lincoln Community College, 76-61.
The Lady Indians (11-9, 3-8 MACCC) and Lady Wolves battled from the beginning and were tied at 13-13 at the end of the first quarter.
In the second quarter, the Lady Indians took the lead and stretched to 34-26 by halftime.
The Lady Wolves had numerous runs in the second half, but the Lady Indians were able to hold the off and pick up the 76-61 victory.
Kenijha Flowers (Clinton) led the Lady Indians with a career-high 16 points, followed by Shayla Golden (Jacksonville, Ark.) with 14 points and a team-high 17 rebounds. Che'mya Carouthers (Tupelo) finished with 12 points and Allie Beckley (Pontotoc) added 11.
The Lady Indians will travel to Scooba Thursday night for a conference battle with East Mississippi Community College. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
