MOORHEAD, Miss – The Lady Indians survived a pair of long scoring droughts to pick up a 71-60 road win over Mississippi Delta to open MACCC play Thursday night.
The Lady Indians (6-2, 1-0 MACCC) saw a 14-point advantage shrink to one, 61-60, with 2:15 left in the game. Ky'Leo Worriels snapped a four-minute scoring drought with a layup at the 1:33 mark of the fourth quarter.
Worriels finished with eight points.
ICC fell behind 16-14 to the Lady Trojans (4-5, 0-1 MACCC) after only scoring two points over the final 3:40 of the first quarter.
Amelya Hatch led the Lady Indians with 15, marking her fourth-straight game to score in double figures. Rodericka Parker paced the Lady Trojans (4-5, 0-1 MACCC) with a game-high 19 in the loss.
Both the Lady Indians and Indians (6-1) will be in action on Saturday at ASU Mid-South at 2 and 4 p.m.
