
Jackson, Miss. – Three Itawamba Community College's women's basketball players earned All Mississippi Association of Community College's Conference (MACCC) honors Thursday.
Demetria Shephard (Ponototoc) was named North First-Team and Xhiir Burgess (Oxford) and Amelya Hatch (Ripley) being named to the North Second-Team.
Shephard led the Co-MACCC/Co-North Division Champions Lady Indians in scoring with an average of 11.7 points per game. The freshman guard shot 42.9 percent from the floor, 25 percent from three and 67.9 percent from the charity stripe.
Burgess averaged 7.3 points per game and led the Lady Indians with 6.7 rebounds per game. The sophomore guard/forward shot 48 percent from the field and 55.6 percent from the free throw line.
Hatch averaged 9.7 points per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 28.6 percent from three-point range. The freshman guard led the Lady Indians from the free throw line, shooting 86.4 percent.
