Lady Indians win big over Mississippi Delta

MOORHEAD, MS – The Itawamba Community College women's basketball program hit the road Thursday night and picked up a big win, defeating Mississippi Delta Community College, 68-34.
The Lady Indians (13-4, 5-1 MACJC North) jumped out an early lead and extended to as much as 22, 28-6, before holding s 29-15 lead at the break.
In the second half, the lady Indians scored early and often led by sophomore Ieysha Mays (Mound Bayou) who racked up 12 rebound while scoring a game-high 16 points.
The Lady Indians cruised to a 68-34 victory over the Lady Trojans.
Behind Mays' 16 points, Jabria Pounds (Nettleton) scored 12 points and Alontra Tucker (Lamar) added 11 for the Lady Indians.
O'Nesha Hunt paced the Lady Trojans (1-14, 0-5 MACJC North) with 12 points.
The Lady Indians will have a long week next week as they are off the first half of the week before returning to action next Thursday night when they host Coahoma Community College. Tip off in Fulton is set for 6:00 p.m.
