FULTON, MS – The Lady Indians struggled shooting the ball in their 62-48 road-loss to the Copiah-Lincoln Community College Lady Wolves on Thursday.
"Co-Lin is a very tradition-rich and proud program," said ICC head coach Nanci Gray. "I think when we started struggling shooting the ball it got in our heads and like any good basketball team would do Co-Lin really turned up the pressure to keep us on our heels all game long."
Sophomore guard Ty-Nita Baker (Houston) was the only Lady Indian to score in double figures netting a game-high 20 points for the Lady Indians.
"Ty is a competitor and she wasn't happy after only scoring nine points against Arkansas Baptist," said Gray. "Unfortunately, we couldn't get anyone else going other than Leslie Robinson, who I thought did a great job answering our challenge of stepping into the scoring role when the shots aren't falling."
Robinson (Belmont) finished with nine points in the loss while LyTia Coleman (Memphis, TN) recorded a game-high 11 rebounds while scoring five points.
Co-Lin went to the line 21 times and connected on 14 while the Lady Indians only managed five chances from the charity stripe and made three of them.
Vintrice Briggs led Co-Lin with 18 points while Chanta Poole added 11 in the win.
