SENATOBIA, MS – For the second time this season the Lady Indians suffered a setback to the Northwest Mississippi Community College dropping a 78-71 road decision the Lady Rangers on Thursday.
"I don't know what it is, but it seems like Northwest has our number this year," said ICC head coach Nanci Gray. "We didn't play well at our place against them and they had one of their better games of the year against us and tonight we struggled to shoot the ball while they shot the ball amazingly well against us again."
The Lady Indians shot 25-of-77 from the floor (32.5%) while Northwest connected on 29-of-55 (52.7%) on the night.
"Give Northwest credit," Gray commented. "They did a great job getting the ball in the paint and taking a lot more high-percentage shots than we did and that was the difference in the game. They had a great game plan and executed it really well against us."
Sophomore Ty-Nita Baker (Houston) scored a team-high 12 points while fellow sophomore Ashley Wiley (Jackson) added 11 with sophomore Ayanna Lynn (Indianola) and freshman LaToya Collins (Jackson) added 10 points each.
Nikki McChristian led Northwest with 18 points with Shaquilla Isom added 14 in the win.
