Reed named MACJC Player of the Week

FULTON, MS – The Mississippi Association of Community and Junior Colleges (MACJC) named sophomore Tyreque Reed its player of the week Tuesday after his impressive showing to help the Indians go 4-0 last week.
Reed, who played first base and right field, went 11-for-12 with four walks, 10 RBI, seven runs, four home runs, three stolen bases, and one double as the Indians (11-3) swept Blue Mountain College JV and Snead State (AL) Community College.
The Houlka native is batting .512 with 21 hits, 19 RBI, 17 runs, 11 walks, five home runs, five stolen bases, one double, and a triple to go along with a .618 on-base percentage and a .976 slugging percentage in 14 games this season.
Reed will be eligible for National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Player of the Week.
ICC is scheduled to open conference play on Saturday, March 18 at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. The opening pitch of the doubleheader is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. with both games streaming on www.livestream.com/bulldoglive.
