Carrie Ball-Williamson is beginning her 26th year at ICC after spending 12 years at Pontotoc High School as an instructor and softball and basketball coach.
A native of Pontotoc, Ball-Williamson coached the ICC Lady Indians basketball team for 13 seasons before stepping down to serve as full-time athletic director. Now in her 16th year as AD, she oversees 10 intercollegiate sports as well as operation of the Davis Event Center.
Ball-Williamson received the 2011 NJCAA Loyalty Award for exemplary leadership both on and off the field. She was inducted into the 2012 ICC Athletic Hall of Fame and the 2014 Mississippi Association of Junior and Community Colleges Sports Hall of Fame. For 15 years she served as the NJCAA Region XXIII assistant director.
In 1993, Ball-Williamson was named ICC head coach for both women’s basketball and softball. She earned MACJC Coach of the Year honors twice in basketball while guiding her Lady Indians to two North Division titles. Her softball teams won three North Division championships and one state title. During her coaching career, she also served as the College’s director of Student Activities for 10 years.
Ball-Williamson is a graduate of Pontotoc High School. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in secondary education from Mississippi University of Women and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Mississippi.
She is married to Troy Williamson Jr.
