Lady Indians set for Region 23 Women's Tennis Championships

ELLISVILLE, Miss. – The 2025 NJCAA Region 23 Women's Tennis Championships will take place April 10-12 at Jones College, and the No. 7 seed Lady Indians are ready to make their mark in one of the most competitive fields in the country.

The Lady Indians will open tournament play Thursday afternoon against No. 2 seed Mississippi Gulf Coast. The match will not begin before 1 p.m. The winner will move on to face the winner between No. 3 Meridian and No. 6 Co-Lin later in the tournament.

Despite entering as the No. 7 seed, ICC is nationally ranked No. 21 and will look to lean on its regular season experience and team depth in hopes of a deep postseason run. Six of the eight teams in the Region 23 field are ranked in the Top 25 of the most recent NJCAA national poll, including host Jones College (No. 10), Gulf Coast (No. 12), Meridian (No. 18), Northwest (No. 19), Co-Lin (No. 20), East Central (No. 22), and Hinds (No. 23).

The tournament format mirrors MACCC regular season dual matches, beginning with doubles competition. Doubles will be decided by an eight-game pro set with a seven-point tiebreaker played at 8-8. Following a five-minute break, singles matches will begin, with each match played as best two-of-three tiebreak sets. The match concludes when one team clinches five total courts.

Admission to the three-day tournament is free. Spectators may park in the lot behind Community Bank Park, located near the baseball and softball fields. Live scoring will be available throughout the event via IonCourt.com.
