ELLISVILLE, MS – The No. 21 Itawamba Community College women's tennis program extended their win streak and remained undefeated with a rain shortened 6-0 win over Jones County Junior College on Friday.

The Lady Indians (8-0) swept the Lady Bobcats in doubles action and pick up three wins on the singles side before rain cut the event short.

Andria Barnes (Mooreville) and Madison Scott (Mooreville) started the Lady Indians day with an 8-3 doubles win, followed by Taylor Patterson (Munford, TN) and Aliesha Hudson (Yazoo City) combining for an 8-5 victory.

In the closest match of the day, Ivy Robbins (Pontotoc) and Anna Claire Griffin (Iuka) battle through the competition to pick up the 9-8 (7-4) win to give the Lady Indians the sweep in doubles.

Kacey Byrd (Mooreville), Hudson and Patterson picked up wins over the Lady Bobcats in singles, while Robbins, Barnes and Griffin had their matches called on account of rain.

The Lady Indians will travel from Ellisville to Perkinston tomorrow to battle the No. 23 Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Lady Bulldogs.
