
Nationally ranked Lady Indians shutout Holmes

FULTON, MS – The No. 20 Itawamba Community College Lady Indians took care of business if their first home match of the season, defeating Holmes Community College, 9-0.
The Lady Indians (2-0) started the day getting big wins in doubles competition highlighted by the duo of Taylor Patterson (Munford, TN) and Andria Barnes (Mooreville) shutting out their opponent 8-0.
Both Patterson and Barnes would pick up wins in singles action as well with Patterson winning due to a forfeit and Barnes winning 6-1, 6-0.
Anna Claire Griffin (Iuka) and Aliesha Hudson (Yazoo City) won their doubles match 8-1 and Griffin cruised to a singles victories by the score of 6-1, 6-0.
A pair of Mooreville natives, Madison Scott and Kacey Byrd grabbed an 8-1 win in doubles before taking singles victories.
Ivy Robbins (Pontotoc) rounded out the day for the Lady Indians picking up a 6-3, 6-0 win to complete the shutout.
The Lady Indians will return to action Tuesday, March 24 when they travel to take on the nationally ranked Meridian Lady Eagles.
