Women’s basketball sends three to the next level

FULTON, Miss. – D'Naylah Williams, Leanna Silas and Jestiny Dixon have signed to continue their basketball careers at the next level.

Williams will transfer to Shorter University (Rome, Ga.); Silas, to Stillman College (Tuscaloosa, Ala.), and Dixon, Southern University (Baton Rouge, La.).

Williams finished her ICC career leading the Lady Indians with 8.2 rebounds per game along with a 49.6 shooting percentage while averaging 10.4 points per game. The Kosciusko native earned MACCC Player of the Week for her four-straight double-doubles to help ICC open the season 4-0. She finished with 13 double-doubles, highlighted by a 26-point, 12-rebound effort at Columbia State. Williams was also selected to the NJCAA Region 23 All-Tournament Team. Williams joins the Lady Hawks that are a member of both Conference Carolinas and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II. 

Silas, a native of Southaven, anchored the Lady Indians' defense with a team-high 23 blocks while collecting 124 total rebounds. She picked up a double-double in ICC's 65-56 road win at East Central on Jan. 30. The Stillman College Lady Tigers are a member of both the Southern States Athletic Conference (SSAC) and National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA).

Dixon led ICC with 14.1 points per game, was second on the team with 7.6 rebounds and shot 44 percent from the floor. She posted a career-high 30-point performance in ICC's 83-65 win over Mississippi Delta to secure the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament title. Dixon earned MACCC Player of the Week three times throughout the season, was named to the Region 23 All-Tournament Team and received All-MACCC First Team recognition. Dixon joins the Lady Jaguars that are a member of both the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I.
