ANDALUSIA, AL - Marlee Hatcher (Pontotoc) had a career night in the Lady Indians' 79-36 win over the Lurleen B. Wallace Community College Lady Saints.

The sophomore guard scored a career-high 24 points and connected on a career-best seven three pointers to help ICC improve to 2-0 on the season.

The Lady Indians wasted little time taking control of the contest. Hatcher and Jabria Pounds (Nettleton) combined to score 11 of ICC's 15 points in the first quarter while the defense held the Lady Saints (0-1) to five points in the opening frame.

Pounds scored 13 points on the night.

Leading 33-16 at the break, the Lady Indians continued to pull away in the third quarter when Hatcher scored 10 points, including going 3 of 4 from behind the arch. ICC took a 56-27 advantage before pulling away for the  43-point victory.

Aaliyaha Thornton (Hernando) scored 13 and dished out a game-high six assists - a mark that ties her career best against Baton Rouge Community College in last season's NJCAA Region 23 semifinals at Mississippi College.

Jasmine Griffin and Zairria Brittian led the Lady Saints with eight points each.

MAKING IT RAIN

ICC connected on 10 of 17 three pointers on the night and are 18 of 35 (51%) on the season.

THROWBACK THURSDAY

Hatcher's previous career-high scoring mark was 21 points in last season's 83-63 win at Northeast. She hit five threes in three different games as a freshman: 74-62 win vs Meridian, 83-63 win at Northeast, and 58-57 win in the NJCAA Region 23 quarterfinals vs Southwest Mississippi at Mississippi College.

DELAY OF GAME

The Lady Indians will not return to the hardwood until Monday, November 14 when they host No. 4 Shelton State (AL) Community College.
