SPRINGVILLE, MS -- Itawamba Community College women's basketball coach Nanci Gray announced the signing of South Pontotoc High School standout CC Costilow on Thursday.
"I'm really excited to be a Lady Indians because I've heard a lot of good things about their program," said Costilow. "It feels like home and they really made me feel like part of the family when I went on my visit. The facilities are amazing and it's really close to home. I'm really happy to be a part of the program."
Costilow averaged 17 points, seven rebounds and two steals in her final season with Coach Matt Waldrip and the Lady Cougars.
"CC has been a tremendous leader for us at South Pontotoc," said Coach Waldrip. "She did a great job reaching out and helping bring along our underclassmen this past season. She has been our leading scorer, leading rebounder and best defender so she'll certainly be missed."
The three-time All-Division selection has twice been named MVP for the Lady Cougars and will play in the Northeast Mississippi Basketball Coaches Association (NEMBCA) All-Star game this summer.
"It's an exciting day for our program," said Coach Gray. "We are excited to get another outstanding athlete from Pontotoc County. CC is a very competitive player and hardworking athlete that we feel will bring a lot to our program over the next two years."
Costilow also takes care of business in the classroom as well as the basketball court holding a 4.0 GPA throughout her academic high school career.
She is the third player from Pontotoc County to take their talents to ICC next season joining Pontotoc's Nikki McMilan and Anna Rosenbaum will join Costilow as a member of the defending NJCAA Region 23 champion Lady Indians' 2013-14 signing class.
