FULTON, MS – The Lady Indians showed the signs of a month layoff in their 59-58 non-division loss to Arkansas Baptist College to open the 2013 half of the season on Tuesday.
"We came back out of shape and not focused on basketball," said ICC assistant coach Robin Porter. "Hopefully this will be a wake-up call for the girls to get it in gear when we go back to practice tomorrow."
Porter was filling in for head coach Nanci Gray, who missed the game due to illness.
Freshman LyTia Coleman (Memphis, TN) came off the bench to score a game-high 15 points while sophomore Ayanna Lynn (Indianola) added 14 points in the loss.
"Tia and Ayanna both played great games, but we couldn't get anyone else to step up to take on some of the scoring. That's something we are going to need the rest of the way out if we hope to have a shot at the playoffs."
Makaila Jordan led Arkansas Baptist with 15 while Taylor Green added 12 points in the win.
