Fulton, MS – Seven student-athletes from Itawamba Community College's baseball program have earned all-conference honors from the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference, with one First Team, four second team and one honorable mention.
Centerfielder Lane Domino (Fulton) was selected MACCC First Team. The Jacksonville State signee finished his sophomore season with a team-high 13 home runs. Domino also led the Indians with 14 doubles, three triples, 5 runs scored, a .750 slugging percentage, eight steals and was tied for the team-high in RBI with 37. In 40 games he finished with a .351 batting average from the leadoff spot.
Second baseman Kylan Carter (Houston), catcher Riley Davis (Collierville, Tenn.), left fielder Hayden Harris (Pontotoc) and pitcher Coleton Ausbern (Nettleton) were selected to the MACCC Second Team.
Carter hit .360 with 32 RBI, 35 runs scored, nine double, five home runs and one stolen base while spending most of the season at second base, but did play some at first and even had some pitching appearances. On the mound, Carter threw five innings and struck out six with only one walk and finished with a 1-1 record and recorded one save.
Davis led the Indians with a .429 batting average and picked up 36 RBI, scored 42 runs, and had nine doubles, two triples and two home runs, while splitting time behind the plate and being the designated hitter.
Harris tied with Domino for a team-high 37 RBI last season and was second on the team with a .362 batting average. He hit seven home runs, 11 doubles and scored 38 runs.
Ausbern finished the season with a 5-1 record on the mound and picked up one save. He finished the season with a team-best 4.48 ERA and 61 strikeouts and only 16 walks in 70.1 innings of work over 14 appearances.
Pitcher Will Armistead (Mooreville) and catcher Connar Gardner (Southaven) earned Honorable Mention selections.
Armistead led the Indians with 67 strikeouts and only gave up 24 walks over 14 appearances and 69.1 innings. He finished 4-3 with a 5.06 ERA.
Gardner caught game one's for most of the regular season doubleheaders and most of the postseason, finished the season with a .322 batting average and had eight doubles and six home runs. He picked up 20 RBI and scored 29 runs over 32 games.
The Indians finished 25-15, 19-9 in the MACCC, won a playoff series, advanced to the NJCAA Region 23 Tournament and were ranked as high as 11 in the NJCAA rankings.
