Jackson, Miss. – Itawamba Community College's Collin Babin has been named Baseball Pitcher of the Week by the Mississippi Association of Community Colleges Conference (MACCC) for his performance on the mound last week.
The freshman right hander from Ponchatoula, La. threw a no-hitter in the Indians' 14-1 run-rule victory over the Northeast Tigers to earn the conference honor.
In the five-inning contest, Babin struck out nine of the 16 batters he faced, while walking one and allowing one unearned run.
Babin is now 3-2 this year for the Indians (16-8, 12-4 MACCC) who are ranked No. 14 in the national polls. He has 22 strikeouts.
The Indians' next games are scheduled for Tuesday, Apr. 6, when they host Coahoma for a conference doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. in Fulton.
